Viviscal Conditioner is part of the Viviscal Hair Renewal System that claims to treat hair loss and thinning hair. The formulation of this product is supposed to provide a scalp environment that facilitates hair growth and at the same time protect the hair.
Let’s take a look at the ingredients.
Cetearyl alcohol and PEG – 10 olive glycerides are used due to its emulsifying properties. Cyclomethicone provides the ingredient that softens hair. Some of the ingredients come from coconuts; Caprylic Triglyceride, Capric Triglyceride. Cetrimonium choride is a cationic conditioner that contributes in the softening and conditioning of the hair. Tangles will not be a problem as Viviscal conditioner contains Dimethicone and Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol which makes brushing easier.
It also contains Creatine. There are some myths out there that Creatine, when taken orally, causes hair loss. There is no evidence what so ever of this. Creatine is a very common ingredient in normal shampoos.
Citric acid, benzyl alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone acts as the natural preservatives.
Viviscal conditioner, like most conditioners is very easy to use. Just simply massage it into the hair and scalp and leave for about 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. It advises that it should be used with Viviscal Shampoo and scalp cleanser for best results.
So, although Viviscal contains none of the usual suspects of hair loss treatment shampoos it’s going to be kinder to your scalp then the stuff you get in the supermarket.
A worthy replacement for your over the counter shampoo, will ensure a good scalp environment for other, more powerful, treatments.
